Cake Decorating Question 10 Points for best answer THANKS!!!?
Hi,
I love to decorate cakes and i had 4 questions about cake decorating
1). Fondant: What is a gelatin free fondant recipe that works well for decorating/ covering cakes?
2). Modeling Chocolate: What does it taste like and what is the best use for it?
3). What is a website that will show you step by step instructions on how to cover a cake with fondant and other decorating forms and stuff.
4). What is the neatest cake decorating tip or idea you have ever used or heard of? (It could involve icing fondant, modeling chocolate, fancy desserts, fruit, ANYTHING!)

I like that recipe, but it’s not exactly easy to get your hands on glycerin all the time. It is possible to substitute gelatin with agar agar, but it does not always work out. I have not tried the following recipes, but I have heard that they do work.

2. It will be a little sweeter than whatever type of chocolate (bittersweet, semisweet, milk, white) you originally used to make it. It has a doughy texture like a soft tootsie roll. You can cut it into ribbons to lay across your cake or form flowers, leaves, and such to decorate with. It’s doughy-ness makes it good for shaping with your hands.

4. A friend of mine made a cake in the shape of an open Tiffany’s box with a diamond ring for her brother when he proposed. I believe she used a combination of fondant and frosting for the box and molded the ring out of fondant.
